The BMW i4 sedan was recently caught in full camouflage clothing. What the electric sedan will look like in the near future has been revealed to some extent by the espionage recordings. BMW had hinted at designing the i4 on the I Vision Dynamics concept car, but it appears the upcoming sedan will share its looks with the 4 Series Gran Coupe.
The BMW i4 has distinctive headlights with daytime running LEDs, similar to the BMWs in the M series. The German automaker has decided to keep the radiator grille covered. Every BMW gets the kidney, so not much is left to the imagination, even though the grille doesn’t currently exist. Whether the grille is big or small remains to be seen as we near its release.
The design of the i4 seems to have a mixture of sporty aesthetics and a slight luxury aspect. The sleek roof drops down and meets the trunk in the rear to give the car a coupe-like finish. The spy footage doesn’t reveal the taillights so you’ll have to wait for it to be finalized. At the back, however, no exhaust pipes protrude and since the i4 is an EV, you shouldn’t be surprised.
According to reports, the BMW i4 will be based on BMW’s CLAR platform. This means that the car will have several variants. BMW will offer an 80 kWh battery that will deliver an impressive 523 horsepower and an electric range of 373 miles. The i4 will be able to use its RWD or optional AWD system to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 4 seconds with a top speed of about 240 mph.
The 80 kWh battery of the electric sedan will reach 80% of its capacity in just 35 minutes with the quick charger from BMW. The truth of all of these claims will become apparent when the sedan hits the market.
